A Week Full of Earth Day Events

The University of West Georgia and Keep Carroll Beautiful are working together to host a week full of activities in celebration of Earth Day. Take some time this week to get outside and enjoy all the natural beauty that Carroll County has to offer. All events are free and open to the public.

Monday
• Keep Carroll Beautiful Ribbon Cutting and 6th Birthday Party, 4:30-6:30 PM

• Movie Night: Disney/Pixar's “WALL-E” at 7 p.m. UWG Callaway Room 145

Tuesday
• Flower Planting at John Tanner State Park, Noon. Sponsored by Love Not Litter, Keep Carroll Beautiful.

Wednesday
• Fundrasier and Workshop using recycled materials to benefit SCRAP Bin in Carrollton. 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. UWG in front of UCC.

Thursday
• Rock and Mineral Roadshow, 5:30 – 7 p.m. Lower Parking Lot at UWG Coliseum (Callaway Building in case of rain)

Friday: EARTH DAY
• River Cleanup, 9 – noon. Starting location: Skating Rink at Temple Highway/Highway 27 North. Shuttle service from UCC at 9 am.

• Litter Lug, 9 am, UWG Stadium. Sponsored by Love Not Litter

• Day hike at Macintosh Reserve, van leaves UWG Campus Center at 2 pm.

• UWG Campus Tree Planting, 1:30p.m. at Flag Pole (park area) on Front Campus Drive.

Saturday
• Pickup with the Pack, 9 -12. Launch site at Food Lion parking lot. Shuttle service from UCC at 8:45, 9 and 10 a.m. Returns to UCC at noon.
