Cancer Recovery Walkers Program to Resume April 13

Area residents who would like a little inspiration with their walking regimen are invited to join Tanner Health System’s Oncology Advisory Council as part of the group’s Cancer Recovery Walkers.

The Cancer Recovery Walkers went on hiatus during the colder winter months, but the group will resume weekly walking exercise sessions on Wednesday, April 13 at 9 a.m. on the walking trail behind Tanner’s Roy Richards, Sr. Cancer Center.

Participants do not have to be cancer survivors to join the Cancer Recovery Walkers. All walkers are welcome to join, whether able to go a few steps or a few miles. The group works to emphasize the important role regular exercise plays in maintaining one’s health, with encouragement from those who understand just how fragile health can be.

Tanner’s Oncology Advisory Council is comprised of community members who have been impacted by cancer in some way and are looking to give back.

The council continues Tanner Health System’s focus on providing superior patient care. Tanner strives to treat the whole patient – not just the cancer. With candid, honest feedback from individuals who have themselves undergone treatment, continuous improvements can be implemented in the continuum of care to ensure a better experience and improved outcomes for present and future patients.
